Broadening my horizons, immersing myself in a new cultural environment, and deepening my understanding of EU policies: these were my goals, and thanks to my traineeship at the NGO EUABOUT in Brussels, I can say I fully achieved them through an experience that enriched me both professionally and personally.
During my three months as a Communication and Project Management Assistant, I was responsible for managing the organization’s online communication channels, from the website to social media platforms like X, Instagram, and LinkedIn. It was about more than just creating content: I learned to plan a digital communication strategy and develop an effective visual narrative, which strengthened both my graphic design skills and my attention to detail.
One of the most stimulating parts of my traineeship was attending events and conferences in the vibrant heart of Europe. Drafting detailed reports and preparing policy papers gave me a firsthand look at crucial topics, from waste management, sustainability, and the circular economy to specific projects on the internationalization of higher education.
My traineeship was much more than a work experience. It was a pivotal step that sharpened my communication and research skills, prepared me for the challenges of an international career, and above all, allowed me to grow. I am grateful for this opportunity and ready to apply everything I’ve learned in my future with a new awareness of my role as a European citizen.
