Detailed programme of the traineeship:
Project Review and Analysis: Having information about current projects, reviewing and analyzing project documents.
Design Studies: Concept development, generating design ideas, making sketches and creating design alternatives.
Use of Digital Tools: Making designs with software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, ArchiCAD, Photoshop and Illustrator.
Technical Drawing Preparation: Preparation of architectural drawings such as plans, sections, elevations and detail drawings.
3D Modeling and Visualization: Making 3D modeling and renderings, preparing visual presentations of projects.
Work Tracking and Planning: Creating project timelines, preparing a work program and tracking the process.
Regulations and Standards: To have knowledge about current building regulations, standards and application principles and to apply them in projects.
Participation in Meetings: Attending internal and external meetings, taking meeting notes and communicating with project stakeholders.
Architectural Documentation: Preparation of project reports, technical specifications, material lists and other documents.
Knowledge, skills and competences to be acquired by the end of the traineeship (expected Learning Outcomes):
Architectural Principles: Understanding the fundamental principles of architecture, including design theory, architectural history, and contemporary architectural trends.
Architectural Drawing: Proficiency in creating architectural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and details.
Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, ArchiCAD, and rendering programs like V-Ray or Lumion.
3D Modeling and Visualization: Ability to create accurate 3D models and visualizations of architectural designs.
Design Development: Skills in developing design concepts and translating them into practical architectural solutions.
Problem-Solving: Creative problem-solving skills to address design and construction challenges.
Teamwork: Experience working as part of a team, including collaboration with other architects, engineers, and stakeholders.
Client Communication: Skills in communicating effectively with clients, understanding their needs, and incorporating their feedback.
Improvement in speaking, listening, reading and writing in English and Spanish.
Monitoring plan:
The supervisor at the receiving organization, Phd. Eva Reina and her team will be responsible for the student's monitoring throughout the training program by
assisting their work on ongoing projects, giving feedback and helping the students to develop skills.
Evaluation plan:
The final evaluation will be based on professional practice portfolio that the trainee will create during the summer traineeship in accordance with the project he
worked on and the evaluation of the host organization he receives. This portfolio will respect the confidentiality policy of the host organization about the projects
and their location and also covers any issue of certificates or any other reports requested by the University in order for the student to receive the credits.
